We are pleased and excited to produce Baltimore’s first Fashion Week – the first national showcase of our city’s talented artists, models, stylists and the latest fashion trends!

From August 11th–15th, 2008, we will transform Downtown Baltimore into a haven for the fashion conscious, bringing industry leaders and savvy consumers together to celebrate Baltimore’s unique style and remarkable flavor.

WHO SHOULD COME?
National and regional designers, models, media, buyers, and lovers of the best in fashion should plan to attend. Our week–long schedule of runway shows, workshops and mixers will be open to anyone who enjoys great designs.

WHAT ARE WE PLANNING?
We’re putting together a dynamic event, filled with opportunities to mix and mingle with the best artists, buyers, photographers and stylists. The festivities will begin on August 11th with a reception in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Among the week’s highlights are workshops facilitated by world–renowned photographer Roy Cox of Roy Cox Photography [www.4–optic.com], and famed image consultant and runway coach Ivory Narvell [www.narvell.com].

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
This event is a chance for us to highlight the best of Baltimore – including those who work hard to improve our community. A portion of the week’s proceeds will go to two organizations whose work has been central to the residents of BaltimoreCity: the Sylvan Beach Foundation [www.sylvanbeachfoundation.org] and the Health Education Resource Organization [www.hero–mcrc.org]. Both organizations offer services that uplift our neighbors and improve our city.

Baltimore is home to several of the best graduate fashion programs in the region. We welcome exceptional, hard–working students with finished lines to register for Baltimore's Fashion Week.

Throughout 2007, Fashion Icons has produced over 15 fashion shows locally, included Baltimore's Fashion @ Artscape. On Sunday April 20th, 2008 at the American Visionary Art Museum, Fashion Icons and Socialista Events will bring you Rock Paper Scissors – Music, Clothes, and Hair. The Hautest Fashion Experience EVER! The area’s tops designers and boutiques, hair stylist, makeup artists, and models come together to prove to our starving fashionista community that Fashion still lives in Baltimore. Our fashion event will take you on a glorious journey entering the couture styles of hair and fashion all while pumping iconic sounds into your eardrums. But just before we take that much needed fashion excursion, settle in at our VIP Cocktail Hour offering you fresh hot and cold hors d`oeuvres and complimentary cocktails. The event will be captured on video for broadcasting via pod casting provided by Mixcast.tv on YouTube, MySpace, SocialistaOnline.com, and FashionIconsOnline.com.
