I fell in love with design when my mother gave me for my birthday Fashion Plates Fashion Designer. I grew up in a creative environment, I was always drawing and sewing. In high school my mom and grandmother did production for a local designer. I watched her go from the garage of her home to $2 million a year back to the garage. I learned from her experience but also became fearful, what if that happened to me? I got a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Sam Houston State University and went into retail management but always sewing and creating on the side. After 10 plus years of management and the birth of my son, I’ve decided to put my fear aside and go for it.

Funky Elegance, about 35–40% of my items are upcycled, men’s tie halter dress, bed sheets turned into scarf dresses, bottle caps made into a jacket, and the rest is from new materials a pleated bust line bubble dress, and several other scarf dresses. Most of my pieces are one of a kind because I’ve been doing custom work.

I Have been sewing and bringing designs to life since I was 12yrs old. Experience in garment construction, alterations, and creating 1 and only unique designs for individuals.

I do a variety of sewing needs: alternations, repairs, draperys, clothing, etc. I embroidery or monogram on most all types of items from: bags, clothing, hats, shirts, towels, etc. Prices will vary per item. I also can do repairs on quilts and afghans. My skills also expand to crocheting afghans. If you have any questions, please feel free to email. Turn around time will depend on the item.
