Skye Blue received her B.F.A. in Textiles from the Savannah College of Art and Design, in Savannah, Georgia. She has since managed a silk–screen apparel warehouse and assisted a Designer with her Lingerie production runs and shows. She currently owns a home–based sewing and alterations business called Skye Blue Can Sew.

My aim is to assist each client in finding a unique style of clothing that is both functional and flattering.

I create a pattern from your individual measurements, and refine it through fittings. Once we find the cut that works for you, any number of garments can be created from your pattern in a variety of styles and fabrics.

My clothing addresses several points:

Individual style; you are involved in choosing the design, the fabric, the color.

Good fit; many women wear a non–standard size (some are not even aware of this) and have difficulty finding clothing (particularly pants and dresses) that fit.

Lifestyle; do you do a lot of walking? Like to be out in the rain? Never go to the drycleaner? Work with children? Want to be able to go to the office and hop on your bike without changing? Need a dress for a spring wedding that you can wear again in the winter?

All of these issues will be addressed throughout the design process.

Maggie Bogart has been sewing professionally since her teen years. A skill that was passed on from her mother and great–grandmother, it has been her greatest hobby and passion since early childhood. Her areas of expertise are custom wedding gowns and alterations. (Please see website for portfolio www.maggiebogart.com )

Skills include: patter drafting, and fitting, altering, remaking garments, industrial machine for heavyweights, up to 1/4 inch leather, hardware: grommets, buckles, rivets, snaps, you name it, combining elements of two or more favorite articles to make one that fits just right.

bio: I sew out of necessity, making and altering my own clothes. I rarely use new fabric and specialize in "remaking" clothes as they did in pre–industrial times. I salvage leather jackets and make them into books, aprons and accessories.

I have a degree in Technical Theatre, emphasis in costuming and crafts, and I have 3 years experience working in a costume shop. I've attached a resume for a full list of stitching/design history and skills. I am located at SE Stark and 133rd Ave.
