Serious Bizness!!! (Home based seamstress business) 1991–Present

I've sewn curtains, pillows, matching bedroom sets, vests, dresses, hats, scarves, not to mention the tailoring/hemming jobs, new coat linings, hole fixing, mending and other odds and ends. I also make one of a kind cloth dolls to look like people. Did overhire work for Park at the Mall of America for several jobs in 2006. Currently I hem dresses for Rewind Vintage in N.E Minneapolis and am also the personal seamstress for www.princesspartypals.com

Victoria Rosenthal Designs With A Sewing Machine–NYC–Stitcher/Assistant–June 1999–Feb 2006

Victoria owns/operates a 35 year business selling Limited Editions of handcrafted tapestry accessories. I sew using a Pfaff industrial and serger. I also organize stock and assistant on many projects.

RWS & Associates–NYC Overhire Stitcher November 2005
Worked on upcoming Christmas shows. Constructed bias hems, fit and altered dresses/coats, hemmed sleeves/pants and put trim on just about everything.

Rags and Bags–Syracuse NY–Stitcher/Tailor Assistant–February–May 2003

I acquired and practiced much skill in the art of tailoring everyday clothing, from hems, to sleeve shortening, to zipper replacement and gown alteration.

Isabel Rubio Designer–NYC–Costume Assistant–October 2002
Assisted for Peer Gynt at Columbia College and Mom's Maibley at NJ Crossroad's Theatre. Hours spent pulling/fitting at NYC Costume Collection, shopping and stitching for the shows.

New Jersey Shakespeare Festival–NJ–Wardrobe Mistress/Stitcher–June 2000–November 2002
As wardrobe mistress I maintained, laundered and ironed/steamed all the costumes, including fixing problems and doing quick changes. Productions: The Forest, Twelfth Night and Rhinoceros. As overhire stitcher in very busy costume shop, we built costumes and did tons of alterations. Worked with three shop managers, various shop personnel and several different designers

Adobe Theatre–NYC–Wardrobe Mistress–November 2000
Production: Orpheus and Euridyce. I replaced the wardrobe mistress for a final two weeks. Assisted with many costume quick changes, maintained wigs, laundered and ironed.

Richard Frankel Productions–NYC–Dresser/Wardrobe Supervisor's Assistant–May/June 2000
Production: Enter the Guardsman. Tended to laundry, drycleaning, ironing, shopping for necessities, lots of fix–it mending jobs and of course attending to actor's quick changes and backstage needs.

Mint Theatre–NYC– Wardrobe Mistress–January–March of 1999

Production: The Voysey Inheritence. Laundering, ironing and upkeep of costumes, mostly men's white shirts, socks and ladies hose.

Altered, quick change rigged, dyed, ironed, rubberized shoes and of course, stitched and stitched.

Production The Farmer Weds a Widow. Designed and constructed costumes. I also maintained the costumes, laundered, ironed and fixed problems. As I was not paid as an actor, I enjoyed my stipend.






Additional notes: I am good with any kind of serger/overlock/industrial and can handle many odd tasks as a stitcher. I consider myself to be easy going, reliable, efficient and a valuable employee. I can handle various fabrics, have much creativity, a penchant for learning and an eye for a job well done.
