Lisa has had a camera since she was 5 years old and follows in the footsteps of her grandfather and father recording life and surroundings in NZ and South Africa. After 8 years living in the U.K. and traveling the world extensively, she and her young family have settled back in New Zealand. Inspiration is taken from the changing landscape, coastlines and vineyards (reflecting her upbringing in Hawkes Bay). She is working with a Canon 5D and 300D.
“Everything I look at is a composition and I enjoy adding my own creative touches to reflect the tones and form of subjects. I spend every spare minute working on my photography – it’s a passion. For me, photography is a partnership between the photographer and subject. A little of both forms each unique image.”
This is reflected in Lisa’s wedding and fashion photography. With a Physical Education Degree, 8 years of ballet training, gold ballroom dancing medals, the Coast to Coast event and a modeling diploma from Margaret Farry to name a few accomplishments, Lisa injects energy and personality into her work described as contemporary, relaxed and story telling, in recording the day.
Constantly up–skilling her technical skills and knowledge and keeping abreast of current practice, she has studied under Mike Langford, Jackie Rankin, James Gilberd, Freeman Patterson, Tony Bridge, Sally Mason. Lisa is a member of NZIPP (Prov.), PSNZ &WPS. Lisa gives her clients professional service and attention to detail.

I am a photographer with a passion for taking pictures of people. I love people. I love bringing out that look, that expression, that feeling that the model is unaware of. Capturing that emotion, that rare moment, is a joy to me.

To me there is nothing more beautiful than a gorgeous model (except perhaps a small baby...) Creating the right environment, relaxing people, aiming for that timeless image to evoke real emotions; there can be no better profession, surely? Gerry’s journey in photography began when he was a boy with a dark room in his wardrobe. He continued his hobby for over twenty years as a high–end amateur photographer. After immigrating to New Zealand in 1999 Gerry saw the opportunity to realize his dream of making photography his profession and established his own photography studio in 2001.

In 2006 he became a qualified member of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photographers (NZIPP) and has gone on from there to win a number of awards. His membership is your guarantee of professional quality and integrity.

Gerry’s portraiture portfolio includes new born babies, toddlers, children, families, pregnancy shots, couples, and weddings. He especially enjoys working with families and creating beautiful family portraits. Baby and child portraits is another favourite of his, as he enjoys capturing their beautiful little bodies, their multitude of expressions and their displays of affection and fun. Since 2001 the studio has been involved in the Photokids Portrait Contest, which means that hundreds of children ranging from birth to nineteen years have had something unique created for them at Prime Photography. All of these entrants have helped to raise funds for Cure Kids – Child Health Research.

Gerry takes an artistic and creative approach to all of his portraiture. Whether, it’s capturing the smile of a baby, the dark sultry mood of a teen or the affection of a family. Where applicable every completed image is art–worked to create something that is timeless and beautiful.

One of Gerry’s strengths is his versatility – he offers outdoor and indoor shoots and can create something bright and cheerful or dark and thoughtful depending on the subject.

Gerry also creates product portfolios for commercial use with great attention paid to detail.

Another avenue for Gerry is his medical photography. He is used by surgeons and other medical professionals at Lower Hutt Hospital to take clinical photos as a record for research and teaching purposes.

Gerry is married to Frances who is also involved in the studio. With a household of 3 children and numerous pets Gerry is never short of a subject to photograph.
