Couture bridal and eveningwear designer, Yemi Osunkoya, is marking the culmination of a very successful year with a total re–branding of his label. Formally known as Kosibah Creations, since its inception in 1991, it will now be known as Kosibah. Kosibah is an exclusive brand specialising in contemporary and elegant gowns that curve, shape and flatter the wearer.
The magic behind Kosibah, is his ability to create a bespoke figure enhancing gown using fabulous boned bodices, hand ruching and draping that lead the eye to a slim waistline, for a natural, elegant, wow factor. Luxurious fabrics and sumptuous embellishments create extravagance without being over the top.
Yemi, has worked exceedingly hard to make the Kosibah brand what it is today, with clientele spanning across many continents, including Africa. Among his many celebrated clients, Yemi counts, Dawn Butler and Dianne Abbott both well known UK MP’s, Kelly Rowland (of Destiny’s child (pictured)), Alesha Dixon (pictured), Sheila Ferguson, Hollywood actress Indra Ové, Louise Rose and various members of royal families in Nigeria and Ghana.
Given his global reach, it is no wonder that Kosibah has been recipient of many prestigious awards including Bridal Designer of the Year, 2002 and 2004, Mahogany Bridal Awards and the Diamond Recognition from National Weddings UK, Sep 2005. This year has also been a particularly successful year for Kosibah having dominated the fashion world with many prestigious nominations such as Best Male Designer of the BEFFTA Awards (Black Entertainment Film Fashion Theatre and Arts) and various press appearances, such as the front cover of the July/Aug issue of Attire Bridal magazine.
Note worthy among his many accolades is his appointment as Goodwill ambassador for the “Stop Child Hunger Campaign”, which involves shows all over the world to raise funds and awareness of child poverty in Africa under the “CatWALK The World” banner. Yemi was chosen as one of 10 designers of Nigerian descent to create a couture gown for a finalist at the recent MNET Face of Africa modelling competition in Lagos, Nigeria (6th February 2010). The contestant who wore his dress, Lukundo Nalungwe, went on to win Face of Africa 2010.
Yemi will also be Showing at Africa Fashion New York in July 2010 and at the Fashion Expose, Boston Fashion Week September 2010.

Ever think sartorial elegance just isn't what it used to be? I did, so I set up Pimpernel Clothing to design and create clothing and accessories inspired by the beauty and quality of craftsmanship of period garments.

Why I do it
Unlike today, during the 18th century all fabrics were made from natural fibres: beautiful silks, sumptuous velvets and immaculate wools. The cut wasn’t necessarily always practical, but was always elegant and beautiful. Individuality could be expressed through clothes and accessories by an almost limitless variety of different fabrics, a myriad of colours, and a world of different textures. My aim is to re–introduce the elegance and fun that existed in clothing and accessories 200 years ago, and which I’ve rescued from the fashion guillotine.

How I do it
At Pimpernel Clothing I pride myself on using only the finest materials in my range of clothing and accessories. I believe this is the only way to create the most stylish, inspirational and highest quality products possible. All my clothing and accessories are made in England.
