Terri and Cassandra Rosenthal are the mother–daughter design duo who are the faces behind this small, but internationally known label. When she could not find a job in New York City, after moving there to attend college, Cassandra asked her mother to go into business with her. They started Carasan Designs LLC when Cassandra was only 18 years old and had just begun attending classes at the Fashion Institute of Design in New York City. She has since graduated from F.I.T with honors, receiving her Bachelor"s of Science degree. While attending college she fell in love with New York and made it not only her home but also, the home for Carasan, which is now based in Brooklyn. Terri holds down their studio at her southern home base at the family's small farm in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. You may also run into her while she commutes from West Virginia via the train to New York a few times a month.
Carasan's garments and one–of–a–kind jewelry have been worn by celebrities such as Tia Texada and Alysia Reiner. Since beginning operations in 2001, Carasan has been involved with the Golden Trailer Awards Show, has had placement in independent films, and has been seen in numerous magazines.

MCRS is an interwoven brand created from street culture and fashion. The core market for the brand is late teens and mid–twenties inner–city guys and girls. According to the designer / president (Edwin Nunez) the brand caters to the young fashion–head, who is interested in or embraces extreme sports. The MCRS division takes its name from its parent company House of Macoris (M C R S). The House of Macoris originates from two influential cities in the Dominican Republic: San Pedro de Macoris and San Francisco de Macoris. Aside from the cities tropical attributes, Nunez was mostly interested in the fact that these two towns continuously bear the “rags to riches” story, as they produce rising stars periodically. These are two towns of hard working people whose efforts go recognized. For that reason, Nunez hopes to bring the magic of Macoris to New York, the city of dreams and moreover to the rest of the world.

The Love Shine line of handbag, totes and backpack designs was founded in 1994 by Mark Seamon and Mike Gonzales in New York in the basement of a Spanish Harlem apartment building. The design duo began creating one–of–a–kind bags out of hand dyed canvas for friends and family as a sideline hobby to take their mind off their their other careers of cooking (Mark) and dancing (Mike). The response to their products was robust and they began getting special requests and orders from friends of friends and later small boutiques. Thus, a small business was born.
In the beginning, many of Love Shine's designs were inspired by the travels of Seamon and Gonzales. From Mexico to Japan, they found inspiration and ideas. They brought back from Mexico beautiful rolls of brightly colored nylon mesh and oilcloth (a waterproof material decorated with images of flower or fruits that is traditionally used as table covers). They also collected images, trims, and other treasures from Japan, Greece and Spain.

As time progressed, they developed a line of striking Love Shine mesh totes and oil cloth accessories (wallets, dop kits, etc). In addition to designing handbags, purses and totes in soft cottons and upholstery fabrics, they continued to create new canvas and oil cloth backpacks and "day bags" with funky images.

In 1997, Mark Seamon opened a Love Shine retail and workshop in the East Village of Manhattan. In addition to the wonderful bags and accessories found at Love Shine, the studio–shop–showroom has also been the site of numerous sidewalk fashion shows, special events and art installations.
