Tailored by Design is a family–owned business that has been open in Austin since 2001. Many of the clients we had in that first year are regulars to this day, including businesspeople, musicians, socialites, hipsters, students and homemakers, as well as hotel managers, boutique owners and costume designers. We alter denim, leather, formal wear, casual clothes, suits, jackets, skirts, dresses, hats, table cloths, draperies, and anything else that's held together with thread. Customers of all ages, styles, and vocations appreciate our personalized service and reliability. Ape–Gear is functional art designed for fashionable people –– people that won't trade fashion for function, they want them both and that is what they shall have!

What makes Ape–Gear so unique, and unlike traditional Bags, Backpacks, Pillows, Plushies, and Tshirts is that its designs are original, colorful, fun, but with a twist.

Ape–Gear was created by an artist who was tired of having other peoples visions, designs, or bland corporate logos all over his stuff and so with a take charge attitude, he said "hey, if they can do it, why can't I ?".

Ape–Gear was born.

I have 20 years sewing & design experience, a degree in fashion design, and the ability to create just about anything from fabric. My work experience & skills include costume design, clothing design, drapery, upholstery, alterations, and pattern making. I can work from an idea and measurements. I am set up to accommodate small and long runs...anything from a simple alteration to 2000 pillows. I do most of the work myself, but also have 3 skilled seamstresses on call for larger jobs.
